The easy way to build your lowering kit for your 1973 to 1987 Chev or GMC C10/C15 pickup

These kits only fit 2wd trucks and front components will also fit the Blazer, Jimmy and Suburban models.

In the front you have the option to lower your C10 using either spindles or coils.

If you use spindles you will need to determine which rotors your truck has before you order. In the 1973-80 trucks they used the 1.25" thick rotors as a general rule and the 1981-87 trucks usually used the 1" thick rotors. But there were some 1981-87 trucks using the 1.25" thick rotors so it's alway best to measure them. The difference is that they use different wheel bearing and calipers so it is very important to make sure you get the right ones.

If you decide to go with coils in the front keep in mind that they are rated for a small block engine, so if you have a big block you will get more drop and if your truck have the inline 6 then you will get less drop. Also, your coils are likely sagged a bit if they are original to the truck.

And if you don't want to do spindles or coils then DJM offers a control arm kit to lower the front. Or you can go to the max and use a Ridetech front kit which will give you upper and lower control arms along with coilovers and spindles.

In the rear this get a lot easier. You can use shackles for a 1 or 2 inch drop, shackles along with hangers for a 4" drop or a flip kit for 5 or 6" drop. Add a c-section to finish it off for frame clearance. Or for the ultimate street machine you should use the Ridetech rear bolt on 4 link with adjustable HQ coilovers for 5 to 7" of drop.

Then to finish things off choose a set of shocks to make your truck handle like a dream.

There's nothing too fancy on these classic trucks and they're easy to lower in your driveway or garage. Just be sure to choose all the correct parts the first time to make your job easier.
