The easy way to build your lowering kit for your 1967 to 1972 Chev or GMC C10 pickup

These kits only fit 2wd trucks and front components will also fit the Blazer, Jimmy and Suburban models.

Be aware that a small number of these trucks were built with rear leaf springs instead of the standard coil spring rear suspension. We have listed the available parts accordingly.

In the front you have the option to lower your C10 using either spindles or coils but keep in mind that if you want to use spindles on the 1963-70 models you will need to upgrade your brakes to use disc brakes. The parts are readily available and you will need to get components that fit the 1973 to 1980 C10 models. You will need to get the rotors, calipers, bearings, brake lines, backing plate and you should also upgrade to a disc brake master cylinder and proportioning valve to ensure proper braking operation. If your truck is a 1971 or 1972 model then the factory brakes will work fine. Just be sure to order the proper parts.

We offer coils from several manufacturers in varying amount of lowering which can be used instead of or in addition to lowering spindles. DJM also offers lowering control arms and they can offer additional suspension travel. Also, if you don't want to upgrade your factory drum brakes they offer control arms that will work with the drum brakes so you don't have that additional expense.

In the rear the first thing you need to check on is if your truck has the optional rear leaf springs instead of the standard rear coil suspension. Although we do not see it often there are a few trucks out there using the rear leaf springs. If your C10 does have the rear leaf option then there is a lowering shackle kit available for a 2 inch drop or else a flip kit for a 5 inch rear drop.

If your truck has the standard rear coils spring suspension then there are a few different coil spring options to get the ride height where you want it. The Belltech rear coils are their "Pro Series" which come with a spacer so that they can be used to do either a 3 inch drop using the spacer or leave the spacer out for a 4 inch drop. And don't forget to add the panhard bar as an accessory that will make it easy to keep the differential centered once you have the lowering coils installed. The leaf spring trucks do not use a panhard bar.

Then to finish things off choose a set of shocks to make your truck handle like a dream.

There's nothing too fancy on these classic trucks and they're easy to lower in your driveway or garage. Just be sure to choose all the correct parts the first time to make your job easier.
