Lowering Kit Builder Tool. The Easy Way to Build Your Lowering Kit

Our lowering selection tool for the 1994 to 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 2WD Regular, Extended Cab, Short Box Lowering Kit. Each kit can be selected with or without either Belltech NitroDrop 2 shocks, or Belltech Street Performance shocks.

Available for your 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 or 2001 Ram pickup.

The Lowering Kit is available in the following configurations;

You can leave the front at factory height and drop the rear by 2 inches is done with shackles.

For a 2 or 3 inch front drop you can use coils and the rear 4 inch will use hangers and shackles

For a 4 or 5 inch front drop, spindles and coils are used, and to lower the rear 6 inches, a flip kit is the way to go. The spindles are being phased out so if you want this kit you need to act fast.

You can also do a 4 or 5 inch front with a 7 inch rear by adding a set of lowering shackles to the above kit.

Lowering the front or rear by more than 2 inches requires shorter shocks.

Kit Notes:

  • This kit is only for trucks with an automatic transmission

1994 to 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 2WD Regular, Extended Cab, Short Box Lowering Kit

These trucks use front control arms and spindles with a traditional coil contacting the lower control arm providing the suspension action. In 2000 they made a change to the control arm / spindles and that made it so that most manufacturers only list their parts up to 1999. The easiest thing to do is a coil in the front as they fit right from 1994 to 2001. Just have to make sure you get the right one for the engine and cab configuration so you get the right amount of drop. Curious that I remember that Aim Industries used to sell S10 coils for the front of these trucks, and they worked. LOL

The rear is typical leaf spring with riveted hangers and shackles. A set of shackles will get you 2 inches drop, hanger / shackle combo for 4 inches and a flip kit for 6 inches.

Oh, and no 4x4 lowering available. They were a solid front axle. I guess you could pull a leaf if you really needed your 1994-01 Ram 4x4 lowered that bad.
