The Lowering Kit is available in the following configurations:

The rear can be dropped by 2 inches with shackles.

The front and rear can be lowered 2 inches with struts and shackles.

Lowering the front by 2 inches and the rear by 3 inches requires struts and leafs.

To bring the front down 3 inches and the rear 5.5 inches, struts and a flip kit will do the trick.

2004 to 2008 Ford F150 2wd Complete Lowering Kit

In 2004 Ford introduced the new F-150 and set the mark for front suspensions in the light duty pick up segment by converting to a front strut design with the suspension action being supported by a coil mounted on a strut. Eventually Dodge and GM would follow suit. You can lower the front of this truck using either a coil, a strut or if it's a 2WD model, a spindle.

The rear suspension uses leaf springs and can be lowered 2 inches with shackles, but if you want to go down farther than that then you need to do a flip kit due to the hanger being integrated into the frame. Rear drops are available in 4 to 7 inches.
